Thank you  to Ardene House Vet Practice for its lovely donation. We have managed to cover all of our costs for the planters from the donations this year, and also been able to increase the number of flower baskets on the Bridge to 24. Thank you to everyone.
More “thank you”s for some generous donations to help fund planters and flower baskets. We have two ladies who yet again have donated in memory of their mother, who loved her garden – thank you so much.
A big thank you too for money received from Brooks Carter Clinic Limited, and also from The Barber’s Pole, which has also offered to look after a planter for us, so we’re in the process of getting another one made to go on the corner of Balgownie Crescent and Ellon Road.

Another couple of “thank you”s to VT Wealth Management and to Nor Sea Foods Limited for their extremely generous donations towards flower baskets and planters in the Bridge of Don. It is so very much appreciated.

Bridge of Don Community Council would like to thank Flowers With Flair, for their very generous donation towards the costs of planters around the Bridge of Don. Their donation is very much appreciated as the planters brighten up our area

Bridge of Don Community Council would like to thank Royal Aberdeen Golf Club and Bridge Vets, for their very generous donation towards the costs of flower baskets on the bridge on Ellon Road this summer. Their donations are very much appreciated and  will brighten up our area. We have arranged for the flower baskets to go up sometime in June.

We’d also like to thank Norse Limited The Specialists for High Pressure Piping Products, for its very generous donation earlier.

A big thank you to Asda Middleton Park for its donation of compost to fill up our planters as the summer bedding goes in. That’ll keep us busy over the next few weeks! And an even bigger thank you for loading it into the car for us! 🙂

The BoD community council recently held a meeting with local police and ACC councillors regarding multiple concerns from residents regarding anti-social behaviour in the Bridge of Don. An update from the meeting may be found here.

Please follow the advice given by the police to continue to contact the relevant authorities with any issues. It is of course also possible to contact your local councillors or email the community council with concerns, and we will pass them on to the local police.

Flower Baskets

Bridge of Don Community Council has decided to fund raise again this year towards the costs of flower baskets on the Bridge on Ellon Road and planters at various locations around the area.  Last year we decided not to fund raise as we did not think it right to ask companies for donations while in lockdown.

We did however manage to put up 12 baskets instead of our usual 24. This year we would like to have 24 again, so are asking for contributions.

The  flower baskets are always appreciated by residents and commuters as they brighten up the area. There are planters at various places in the area. We use funds to purchase compost and plants and these are looked after by volunteers from the community council and the wider community.

The cost of each basket to put up and maintain is approximately £80. Planters are approximately £50. Any value of donation would be gratefully received, and every donation is acknowledged on our website and Facebook page.

If you wish to support, please send us a private Facebook message or email us and we can advise on how to donate.

Thank you!
